Fitment wording is taken from each product’s own listing. Always re-check it against your vehicle before ordering.
The 3rd-gen Tacoma rattles on washboard roads, and vent clips don't survive it. The best mounts attach to the dash itself. All of these are 3rd-gen-specific and won't fit the 2024+ Tacoma.

Buying guide
MagSafe vs cradle
MagSafe is fast; cradles hold any phone securely and can charge.
Overlanding setups
If you also run a radio or tablet, an accessory bar saves space.

Which mounting point works in this cab
Vent mount. The Tacoma's dash vents have sturdy horizontal slats, which is not true of every vehicle, so a vent mount holds a normal phone fine. Standard trade-offs: it blocks that vent, hot summer airflow against a phone is bad for the battery, and a heavier phone makes the assembly sag.
Adhesive dash mount. The flat area to the right of the cluster and the top of the centre stack both work. The most stable option and the right one for wireless charging. Effectively permanent — removal needs heat and adhesive remover.
Suction cup. Needs smooth glass or the supplied adhesive disc. It will not hold on the Tacoma's textured dash plastic without the disc.
Cup holder mount. Works, but the position is low enough that you take your eyes much further off the road, and a long arm wobbles on a truck's ride.
Vehicle-specific bracket. If one exists for your year, it's the best answer — clips into existing trim gaps, doesn't sag, blocks nothing, needs no adhesive.
The Tacoma-specific option
This generation's dash has a flat upper shelf area and, on many trims, accessory mounting provisions around the centre stack. That makes vehicle-specific bracket mounts and bolt-on ball mounts more available for this truck than for most, and they're the cleanest solution if you can find one for your model year.
Owners who fit radios, lights or gauges often use the same provisions, so check what else you want mounted before committing one spot.
Watch the screen and the shifter
The Tacoma's centre screen sits fairly high. A dash mount placed too centrally can block part of it. Dry fit and check your sightline to the whole screen before committing adhesive.
If you have a manual transmission, check the mount and your phone don't foul your shift hand's path to the lever — a cup holder or low console mount is the one most likely to.
If you want wireless charging
- A stable base matters most. A sagging vent mount breaks coil alignment and charging slows or stops. This is where the adhesive dash mount earns its cost
- Route the cable to a 12V or USB outlet behind the trim edge rather than letting it dangle
- Expect wireless to be slower than cable, and a phone in summer sun that's also charging to throttle
Magnetic mounts
Easier one-handed docking, but your phone needs built-in magnets or a case with a magnet ring. A plain case means a stick-on plate, which blocks wireless charging through the case. Thick rugged cases — common on a work truck — weaken the hold considerably.
Placement
Keep the phone close to your natural forward sightline without blocking it. Several states restrict windshield mounting; dash and vent positions avoid the question.
FAQ
What's the best phone mount for a 3rd-gen Tacoma? Offroam's MagSafe mount or a ProClip dash mount.
Do 3rd-gen Tacoma phone mounts fit a 2024? No. The dash is completely new.
Does the Offroam Tacoma mount fit a Tundra? Offroam lists it for the 2014–2021 Tundra too.
Do these mounts need drilling? ProClip is no-drill; check other brands' instructions.

Are there Tacoma-specific phone mounts? Yes, more than for most vehicles — this generation's dash has accessory mounting provisions around the centre stack.
Does a manual transmission change the best position? It can. Check the mount doesn't foul your shift hand's path; avoid low console and cup holder positions.
