Fitment wording is taken from each product’s own listing. Always re-check it against your vehicle before ordering.
The space under the F-150 SuperCrew's rear seat is big, and several brands make trays and lock boxes for it. Two things change fitment: a rear subwoofer (on some audio packages) and Ford's factory lockable storage box on some trims.
Which version do you have?
| Check | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| SuperCrew vs SuperCab | These products are SuperCrew-only |
| Rear subwoofer | Husky sells a separate version |
| Factory under-seat storage | You may not need an aftermarket box |
Flip up the rear seat cushion to see what's underneath.
How we picked
- Included SuperCrew-specific storage
- Checked subwoofer versions
- Compared lockable vs organizer-style products
Buying guide
Subwoofer
Trucks with upgraded audio can have a subwoofer under the rear seat. Order the matching version.
Factory storage box
Some F-150s have a factory lockable storage box. Ford also sells floor liners for trucks with it — see our floor liners guide.
Common fitment problems owners report
- Non-subwoofer trays ordered for trucks with a subwoofer
- Products ordered for SuperCab trucks
- Older 2009–2014 listings bought by mistake
Check how your rear seat moves
Under-seat storage boxes fill the void beneath the rear bench, and which product fits depends on how that seat is built on your truck.
SuperCrew. A large flat floor under a 60/40 split rear bench. The cushion flips up against the seatback on most trims, revealing the whole floor. This is the configuration most under-seat boxes are made for, and the one with the most usable volume.
SuperCab. A much smaller space under a shorter rear bench, and the seat geometry differs. Boxes are sold separately for SuperCab — a SuperCrew box won't fit.
Regular cab. There's storage behind the seat rather than under it, so this is a different product category entirely.
Before ordering, flip your rear cushion up and measure the width between the seat mounts, the depth front to back, and the height to the underside of the raised cushion. That last number is the one that catches people, because a box that fits the floor may stop the cushion dropping back down.
What belongs under there
The under-seat space is for things you want in the cab, dry, out of sight, and only occasionally:
- Recovery straps and shackles
- Jumper cables or a jump pack
- A tool roll or socket set
- Tyre inflator
- First-aid kit and work gloves
What doesn't belong there: anything you need while driving (that's the console), and anything muddy (that's a bed box).
Lockable or open
Lockable boxes keep tools out of sight in a truck parked at a job site. Worth it if the contents have resale value.
Open bins and trays are cheaper, lighter, and easier to pull out. Fine for straps and soft gear.
Either way, check the lid opens with the rear seat cushion down if you want access without folding the seat, or accept that you flip the cushion each time.
Things to confirm
- Does the box stop the rear cushion latching when closed? This is the most common complaint
- Does it sit over a rear seat heater duct or battery vent, if your truck has one? Nothing should block a cooling intake
- Does it interfere with the rear seatbelt buckles or the lower child seat anchors
- Is it secured, or does it slide around when empty? An unsecured box in a cab is a projectile in a hard stop — most come with straps or brackets, and they're worth using
The alternative
If you mainly want somewhere to put tools and you have a bed, a swing-case under the bed rail or a low-profile crossover box holds far more and keeps the cab clear. Under-seat storage wins when you want the contents dry, warm and theft-proof.
FAQ
Does under-seat storage fit the F-150 SuperCab? Not these products. They're for the SuperCrew.
Do 2015–2020 F-150 under-seat boxes fit a 2021+? Husky lists 2015–2026 SuperCrew for its GearBox.
Does my F-150 have a subwoofer under the seat? Some audio packages do. Lift the rear seat to check.
Is there a lockable under-seat box for the F-150? Yes. DU-HA makes a lockable interior storage case.
Will a SuperCrew under-seat box fit a SuperCab? No. The space and seat geometry differ, and boxes are sold separately by cab style.
Can I still fold the rear seat down with an under-seat box fitted? With a correctly sized box, yes. A box that's too tall stops the cushion latching — measure the height to the raised cushion first.
Should I secure the box? Yes. Use the supplied straps or brackets; an unsecured box becomes a projectile in a hard stop.
