Quick answer

Offroam's 2021+ F-150 mount is the best MagSafe option for the 14th-gen truck, and ProClip's F-150 center and angled mounts are best for charging cradles. Check whether your truck has the 8-inch or 12-inch screen, because some mounts are designed around one or the other.

Which mounting point works in this cab

The F-150's dash gives you more options than most vehicles, and some are better than others.

Vent mount. The F-150's horizontal vent slats are sturdy enough to hold a phone without cracking, which isn't true of every vehicle. The downside is standard: it blocks that vent, and summer airflow against a phone is bad for the battery. Fine for a light phone.

Adhesive dash mount. The flat area to the right of the instrument cluster and the top of the centre stack both work. This is the most stable option and the right one if you're wireless charging. It is effectively permanent — removal needs heat and adhesive remover, and soft-touch dash material can mark.

Suction cup. Needs smooth glass or the supplied adhesive disc. It will not hold on a textured dash area without the disc, which makes it an adhesive mount with extra steps.

Cup holder mount. Works, but the position is low enough that you take your eyes much further off the road, and a long arm wobbles on a truck's ride.

Vehicle-specific bracket. If one exists for your model year, it's the best answer — it clips to existing trim gaps, doesn't sag, blocks nothing, and needs no adhesive.

Interior work surface and the fold-flat shifter

If your truck has the fold-flat shifter and work surface option, the console area changes shape when it's deployed. A mount clamped to the console or sitting in a cup holder can be in the way. A dash or vent position avoids the issue entirely.

If you want wireless charging

A wireless charging mount needs more than a cradle does:

  • A stable base. A sagging vent mount breaks coil alignment and charging slows or stops. This is where the adhesive dash mount earns its cost
  • Power routed somewhere sensible. The F-150 has 12V and USB outlets in the console; run the cable behind the trim edge rather than letting it dangle across the stack
  • Heat headroom. A phone in summer sun on a dash, also charging, will throttle

Magnetic mounts

Magnetic mounts make one-handed docking much easier, but your phone needs built-in magnets or a case with a magnet ring. A plain case means a stick-on metal plate, which then blocks wireless charging through the case. A thick heavy-duty case also weakens the hold considerably.

Placement

Keep the phone as close to your natural forward sightline as you can without blocking it — high on the dash to the right of the wheel, or the top of the centre stack. Note that several states restrict what may be mounted on the windshield; dash and vent positions avoid the question.

FAQ

Do 2015–2020 F-150 phone mounts fit a 2021? No. The 2021+ dash is new.

Does screen size matter for F-150 phone mounts? For mounts near the screen, yes.

What's the best phone mount for the F-150? Offroam for MagSafe; ProClip for cradles.

Do these mounts need drilling? ProClip is no-drill; check Offroam's instructions.

Do vent mounts damage F-150 vents? The horizontal slats are sturdy enough for a normal phone. A heavy phone on a long arm puts more stress on them than a compact cradle.

Will a suction mount stick to my F-150's dash? Not to a textured area without the supplied adhesive disc. Use glass or an adhesive dash mount instead.

What mount works best for wireless charging? An adhesive dash mount or a vehicle-specific bracket — both hold coil alignment, which a sagging vent mount doesn't.
